Abstract
The research question investigated in this study is, how do secondary teachers describe the impact of service learning on their student population? The goal of this study is to understand how teachers perceive the impact of service learning on high school students' learning experiences. The key influence of this study was my own personal experience and involvement with service-learning as a student. A qualitative method was used in the study which consisted interviews of teachers who currently incorporate service learning in their classrooms. The results of the study conclude that service-learning positively influences a student's learning in the following ways: academics, critical thinking skills, citizenship skills, life skills and personal growth
