Abstract

How can teachers teach creatively and towards the individuality of students while being forced to teach to standardized tests? What inspired me to choose this question for my capstone was the struggle of keeping individuality and creativity in a classroom that was administering tests for two weeks out of every ten. This capstone details the laws and programs that work under the current United States educational system. Students have very limited time to grasp key concepts before they are taking another standardized test. The key influence for the study was to find methods that flourish in the face of testing.
