Abstract
The research question addressed is how can educators implement and utilize blogs in an upper-elementary classroom to support 21st century learning and motivate writers. The motivating factor for this capstone was the necessity for educators to embrace new technologies so that students leave school equipped with digital literacies and prepared for their futures in the 21st century. The topics researched in this capstone include: 21st century learning, blogs, and Writer's Workshop. Within the capstone, there is a workshop model for implementing blogs into an upper-elementary classroom. This workshop is ideal for educators searching for ways to increase the presence of 21st century technology in their classroom.
