Abstract
My capstone topic grew from my years of volunteering and my introduction to service learning. Over the course of five years, I was educated on the concepts and the benefits of service learning, and given the opportunity to introduce service learning to a middle school. In reviewing literature on service learning, the benefits of service-learning focused more on the students than the staff. This brought me to my capstone question: How do staff members view the impact of a school-wide service-learning project on students, themselves, and the community? My goal was to discover the benefits of service learning for staff. The research data revealed staff members were able to see the impact of service learning on students, but they had a difficult time noticing the impact it had on themselves.
