Abstract
The purpose of this study was to honor the voices of parents of children with emotional and/or behavioral disorders and their expressed need for community support. Qualitative research was chosen to allow for a rich description of parents' perspectives, ideas and behaviors regarding community supports. Using interview and grounded theory three themes emerged: 1) Parent Challenges Before their Child is Identified, 2) Parent Reflections on Community Relationships: Before and After their Child is Identified, 3) Parent Need for Future Support.
