Abstract
The research question addressed was how can a Book Club blog be used to increase middle school student reading motivation and support students in their continued reading success? The motivating factor for this capstone project was the struggle to motivate middle school readers to participate in higher level thinking in order to continue to increase reading achievement. The key influence for this capstone was middle school students who require new learning activities that involve technology and hands on learning. This capstone uses qualitative research in the form of curriculum development and action research to observe and study how a Book Club blog motivates middle school readers to achieve continued reading success. Through observation and student work sample evaluation, it was concluded that Book Club blog was effective in supporting student learning. Additionally, Book Club blog proved to motivate students to do their best work and strive to correct reading difficulties.
