Abstract
Parents, teachers and administrators each play an influential role in the education of kindergarten students. Integrating developmentally appropriate practice with the high academic standards is often a challenge. Identifying the expectations each stakeholder has and connecting them with recent research enables teachers to provide what stakeholders expect while maintaining a developmentally appropriate environment. Additionally, included are several recommendations for how to educate and support stakeholders in their pursuit to include meaningful play in the classroom.
