Abstract
The research question addressed in this project was how does the continued daily use of a student planner affect the homework completion of an intermediate age student? This study grew out of the researcher's experience helping one student find success using a student planner and wanting to help more students. The educational literature reviewed discusses homework, student organization and the use of student planners in the intermediate grades and was used to understand and validate the research. Fourth grade students and their parents were the participants in this research. Teacher observations along with parent and student surveys were given after the semester long research was conducted. Overall findings suggest that when a student uses their student planner, there will be positive effects on their homework completion.
