Abstract
The research question addressed in this project was When working with young children with behavior issues, what strategies can be planned into my social skills curriculum to effectively support my young students' mental health, specifically their ability to self regulate their emotions by problem solving without letting their emotions take over? It documents how an Early Childhood Special Education teacher creates a curriculum to help young children learn to regulate their emotions and control their behaviors. The curriculum outlines how to teach young student to problem solve and calm. it is a curriculum designed using backward design and uses related research literature to validate the curriculum methods.
