Abstract
The research question addresses, how does an early childhood teacher's practice impact parents' awareness of their child's learning and development in an early childhood classroom? The capstone explores the difference of involvement and engagement according to research completed by Joyce Epstein and Debbie Pushor. It documents parents' perceptions of their experience in the early childhood program. The author describes the method of research with families that include surveys, questionnaires and a focus group then analyzes and synthesizes the data. The research enables the early childhood teacher to investigate current practice and its effectiveness with family participation.
