Abstract
The research question addressed in this project was, how can a licensed library media specialist working with 6th grade students in reading increase students' reading levels and students' reading interest? The capstone details one library media specialist's reading motivation programs with sixth grade students. It integrated information literacy, collection development, collaboration, book clubs, student choice, and electronic reading motivation programs. After finding related research, the author studied the reading interest and reading ability of sixth grade students for four months. Although there were limitations and areas to improve in future studies, results showed an increase in reading motivation and reading ability in the sixth grade students in the study.
