Abstract
The focus of this capstone was the use of formative assessment and its impact on student achievement and teacher quality. Literature both supporting and questioning the validity of formative assessment are presented along with data collected during the research project. The methodology used to collect data came from quizzes, tests, observations, and classroom discussions. Conclusions from the study are arrived at by using proven statistical measures with along with sound logical reasoning.
