Abstract
My capstone compares the drawing ability of junior high students with autism to their academic achievement. Drawing ability is measured on a rubric based on Viktor Lowenfeld's theories of development and academic achievement is measured by their quarterly grade reports. This information will be combined with observational notes of the students to determine if there is a link between students with autism and achieving high grades. The information gathered will be used to give suggestions to junior high teachers for adapting lessons for students with autism to increase their success while still honoring academic expectations.
