Abstract
The research question addressed in this project was what are effective strategies for helping middle and high school students understand learning disabilities and the impact they may have on their lives? This capstone project encompasses negative and positive implications related to the LD label. This information provides a base for the development of a curriculum uniquely structured for children with LD to explore what it means to have a learning disability and how the information can empower them to become successful adults. The motivation for the topic of this capstone comes from one teacher's experiences with learning difficulties and witness to students' struggle to understand and accept their learning differences.
