Abstract
The purpose of this Capstone project was to develop of set of reading strategies, that when used in content area classes, would increase reading achievement levels. A wide variety of named reading strategies were researched and developed. Both qualitative and quantitative methods of data collection were used while conducting research with students and teachers at the middle school level. The research findings include achievement and proficiency in reading comprehension over a three month period of time.
