Abstract
The research question addressed in this capstone was, what is the staff development necessary for regular education teachers so they might become more effective at addressing the needs of gifted students in their classroom? It documents one teachers understanding and experience with staff development as it relates to the teaching of gifted students in different settings. The motivating factor for this capstone was the positive influence specific staff development such as, The William and Mary Curriculum for High Ability Learners, The Comer Process for Reforming Education (1996), Restorative Justice Circles, and Envoy classroom management strategies, had on changing the authors ability to teach gifted students and the vision of helping other teachers become more effective at addressing the needs of gifted students in their own classrooms.
