Abstract

My Capstone is about the exploration of assessment in Art education. I also looked into best practices for Art education assessment. The three types of assessment that I researched were Formative, Summative and Performance. I then focused on one unit that I teach to my sixth grade art students. In this unit I implemented at least one Formative, Summative and Performance Assessment. Following the implementation, I examined the results of student achievement from using these assessments on various assignments given throughout the unit.
