Abstract
The research question addressed in this project was, how can parents and educators work together to identify specific strategies which will increase the opportunities for success for the male students in the classroom? The motivating factor for this capstone was to find specific brain based strategies that parents and educators could use to help males be successful. A parent workshop was created and presented to parents. The workshop provided parents with brain based learning theories, strategies they could use with the sons and resources for further study. The results concluded that educators need to continue to work in conjunction with parents to achieve optimal performance from male students. Parents want to stay informed about current research and learning strategies that may help them continue to advocate, advise and encourage their son's success.
