Abstract
The research question addressed in this project was how understanding student's differences help builds community in an elementary classroom. It documents one teacher's process on how to explore students differences which will build a community in the classroom. The process includes: morning meetings, a problem solving box, class meetings, PATHS curriculum and diversity training. Understanding differences helps build a community in an elementary classroom.
