Abstract
A secondary mathematics educator is faced with many challenges in the classroom including class size, student apathy, low test scores, and meeting the needs of the learners. One of those challenges, meeting the needs of learners, is addressed in this capstone by searching for answers to the question what are successful strategies to teach higher level mathematics to students with learning disabilities? Both students with learning disabilities and educators were interviewed to develop to list of successful strategies to use in mathematics classrooms. These strategies focus on teaching higher level mathematics to students with learning disabilities.
