Abstract
This project allowed me to investigate ways to have relevant discussions of race in my 4th grade classroom. During this process I researched many ideas on quality literature instruction, interdisciplinary instruction, and race. I then developed a four-week long curriculum around the book, The Watson's go to Birmingham - 1963, by Christopher Paul Curtis.
