Abstract

The research question addressed is, will integrating technology into my teaching affect my student's learning? The motivating factor for this capstone was to find the correlation between technology use and student learning. This capstone details the positives of integrating technology into the classroom as well as some potential downfalls of improper integration. This study took place over a four week time span, two weeks without technology and two weeks with technology integration. This study focused on teacher lead visual technology integration, while covering a sixth grade science curriculum based on matter and energy. Research was based on current trends in technology integration, ISTE's standards, as well as the works of Marc Prensky, Larry Cuban, and James Gee. Study results were based on student test scores, teacher observations, and student surveys.
