Abstract
This capstone focuses on increasing parent involvement in a high poverty school. It examines attempts to build relationships with students' families with the goal of increasing parent communication and involvement. The effort to create parent partnerships was divided into three components: initiating relationships, setting up systems to maintain relationships and providing opportunities, activities and ideas to build relationships.
