Abstract
My research study focused on the transition of students from middle school to high school. My review of the literature suggests that a transition team needs to be created to oversee the whole transition process. There is not one single item that will make the transition successful for students but rather a complete program over several years is needed. A questionnaire was given to our school's students, parents, and teachers to get feedback on our performance with the transition process. The results showed that students were more critical than their parents regarding the transition to 9th grade. My plan to improve my school district's transition of 9th graders is presented. A transition team needs to take control and bring about positive change. Results of this capstone will be shared with appropriate leaders and advisors.
