Abstract
This capstone is an exploration of the benefits of reading aloud in classrooms. Key influences included peers, family members, former and current students, authors such as Ray, Calkins, Trelease, etc. The research method was student observations along with peer discussions. The author reviews her past and present professional experiences. She read and reflected on similar research material, and created curriculum to be used for her read aloud program, as well as surveys for her students.
