Abstract
The research question addressed in this project was “do 1:1 devices, such as iPads, increase academic achievement in high school students?” It documents the process one teacher took in implementing the iPad as a technological tool in a tenth grade biology class throughout one academic year. The methodology involves surveys, interviews, and the teaching of a biology lesson with and without the iPad. Literature both supporting and refuting the use of 1:1 devices in education is presented along with the analysis of the data collected during the research study.
