Abstract
This capstone is a case study of an Earth Space Science (ESS) class that was taught at Becker High School, in Becker, Minnesota using a hybrid format. With the hybrid format, students completed some of the content individually online, but met several times a week to complete labs and other activities. The course was trial to discover if this type of class would be viable for teaching ESS at a high school. The capstone explores the best practices of using a hybrid format in teaching and if it is as effective of a format for teaching the material as a traditional face-to-face format. It also includes the use of Myers-Briggs personality types to learn the role of personality type in the effectiveness of learning through the hybrid method by comparing performance of students with each preference of the four domains in the class.
