Abstract
In this study the research question was, what strategies are most successful in teaching global warming? It documents one teacher's created classroom activities designed to improve student knowledge on the subject of global warming. The activities were created by integrating strategies identified by John Hattie, which are beneficial to student achievement, with those of Killom, Oluk and Ozalp's strategies for the successful teaching of global warming. Strategies that were proven beneficial, as well as strategies proven not to be beneficial, were identified and studied. Activities and tools for teacher use in the classroom were developed based upon proven successful strategies for increasing student achievement and knowledge of global warming. The activities also support Minnesota State Science Standards at the 8th grade level.
