Abstract
This study examined the role of the library media specialist in assisting classroom elementary teachers to integrate technology into their classrooms. Participants were from three elementary schools in a suburban school district. Both quantitative and qualitative research methods were utilized. A Likert-type survey was administered to the classroom teachers to gather data on their general knowledge of technology integration. Observations followed the survey to ascertain the use of technology in the schools. Finally, the library media specialists were interviewed to determine the impact of assisting classroom teachers with integrating technology into the classrooms on the library media position. Due to the administration's support of technology in the school district and the library media specialists' dedication to collaboration with the classroom teachers, the findings indicated that the school district was making beginning strides toward technology integration.
