Teaching social skills to students with autism in grades K-2
The research question addressed in this project was, what components need to be included in a K-2 social skills curriculum for kids with autism? It documents a special education teacher's creation of a social skills curriculum with lessons previously taught to her students from various curriculums. She chose the lessons that had the best outcome for her students, put them in categories, and organized them in a binder. The binder will be used throughout her district. The paper consists of the benefits of social skills, the curriculums used, and characteristics of autism.
