Goals: To introduce techniques and methods of mathematics especially appropriate to the physical sciences. Content: Introductory ordinary differential equations, linear partial differential equations, emphasising separation of variables, Fourier series, special functions. Taught: Spring term. Prerequisite: MATH 3320 and PHYS 1240 or consent of instructor. Credits: 4 credits
