Course Description
Goals: To introduce students to 400 individual Chinese characters and to basic vocabulary and grammar; to enable students to do simple translation and make conversation. Content: Reading, writing, speaking and listening are all equally emphasized in this course. The vocabulary covered includes words for familiar topics and those that deal with everyday situations. Taught: Annually, in spring term. Prerequisite: CHIN 1110. Credits: 4 credits
