Academic Term and Year
An Independent Study provides an opportunity to work independently under the direction of a faculty member. The student and the instructor work out a course of study before the term begins and typically meet four to six times throughout the term to discuss readings and papers. Independent studies can be taken for a credit value between 1-4 credits. Students may take two independent studies while seeking their degree.
Students cannot register for this class online. Registration for this class must be completed with a paper registration form found on the Online Registration Guide (use the Independent Study Project Proposal & Registration Form for Graduate Students).
