Goals: To survey British literature to 1789 in its cultural and intellectual contexts. Content: Selected works by such authors as Geoffrey Chaucer, Margery Kempe, Edmund Spenser, William Shakespeare, John Donne, John Milton, Andrew Marvell, and Jonathan Swift. Taught: Annually.
