Abstract

The question addressed for this capstone project was: How does the research recommend a teacher to design a unit whose goal is to develop a growth mindset toward reading for elementary students who are involved in reading interventions? This capstone project was identified through the author’s experience teaching reading interventions and observing students with low confidence in their ability to be successful. A Growth Mindset in Reading Intervention Unit lesson plans are designed to develop a growth mindset through reading interventions. This project consists of six sections, four of which contain vocabulary, book recommendations and lessons accompanying texts to be used by literacy interventionists to support the development of a growth mindset.
