My mission to find resources that will help build and sustain dignity and self esteem in young adolescent males with Down syndrome
My son Joey has Down syndrome. With each year I had a growing concern of what the future will hold for him. My mission was to search for resources that have helped him and will continue to help him and others in the years to come. I began writing about my journey with Joey in his first sixteen years of life. My goal was to find resources that would help sustain dignity and self esteem in these individuals. I researched and interviewed professionals who have dedicated themselves to working with children and young adults with Down syndrome. I continued this process in talking to family and friends who have been impacted by knowing Joey.
