Course Description
FUNDAMENTALS OF SCREENWRITING Prerequisite: ENG 1110 or permission of instructor. This course will introduce students to the art and craft of screenwriting. As the number of books on screenwriting attests, there is no single formula for creating a successful screenplay. In this course we will survey a variety of strategies while emphasizing the application (or abandonment) of these strategies in your own work. Students will complete several writing exercises in order to master fundamental aspects of screenwriting. By the end of the course, students will be ready to write their own feature-length screenplay.
