Areas of concentration will include: community roles and power structures; city council, county board, and staff relations; public safety and public works issues; land use and community development; employee relations; finance; legal authority and emerging issues of governance and the role of citizen participation. Students currently will find this class a good way to acquire a broad-based understanding of municipal and county operations and the complexities of this occupational field.
