Abstract
This study examined the integration of the Yoga Calm curriculum into elementary school classrooms and its effect on students. Yoga Calm consists of Yoga postures and interactive exercises that address the physical, mental, and emotional needs of the students and the teachers. The literature review indicated the incorporation of Yoga into classrooms had numerous benefits, including stress reduction, increased self-esteem, development of self-soothing skills, improved health and well-being. The results consisted of a descriptive analysis of the Yoga Calm methods used in the classroom, student responses to the methods, and parent and teacher perceptions of the value and effect of these interventions. Results indicated that the Yoga interventions appeared to have a positive impact on student behavior. Parents and teachers valued the experience.
