Abstract
The research questions addressed are: what teaching strategies can be used with LL ABE ESL students to integrate basic computer skills and technology enhanced language learning and, how are these strategies applied during independent computer time for students? This capstone describes teaching computer skills to LL ABE ESL students and the struggle in teaching computer skills while simultaneously enhancing language learning. It documents the author’s attempt to integrate the teaching strategies of repetition, routine, and scaffolding using a computer skills and ESL activity checklist handout in a LL ABE ESL computer lab to facilitate independent language learning and basic computer skill acquisition.
