Abstract
The research question addressed in this project is: How can the effectiveness of a high school professional development program be increased, with the intent of positively impacting student achievement? The author details the implementation of three specific programs - Thursday Inservices, Strategy Teams, and Peer Observation - all of which focused on the power of collaboration among teachers. The goal was to promote teachers as role models of lifelong learners. She finds that all three programs produced significant enhancements to the study school's professional development programs.
