Abstract

The research question addressed in the project is: What are the stress levels, sources of stress, and coping strategies for teachers at my school? This capstone project documents the perceived stress levels and sources of stress for one elementary school in west-central Minnesota. Key influences for this capstone were others who have researched teacher stress such as Deborah M. Johnson, Randal A. Pratt, Patricia T. Ashton and Rodman B. Webb. Their work aided in the development of this capstone project especially the survey that was used to measure the perceived level of stress and sources of stress for teachers in the sample. Trends and patterns in the data of the surveys obtained are noted. Recommendations on how cope with stress are then made based on what the source of stress is. Further possible implications of this study are also discussed.
