Abstract
The research question addressed, How do educators describe their ability to focus on the mission of a secondary sober school in addition to meeting content objectives and graduation standards? Three areas of research were discussed and included the growth rate of underage drinking, an overview of approaches to recovery, and sober high schools including their origin and structure. Two methods, an online survey and face-to-face interviews were used to answer the research question. Online survey results and summaries of interview data were reported. An analysis of themes that emerged from the data and recommendations for educators to more effectively meet the multifaceted mission of sober high schools were made.
