Abstract
The research question addressed in this project is: How can I increase the knowledge and awareness of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder among elementary staff? The motivating factor for this capstone was the contact with a high number of elementary students who exhibit learning and behavior problems. It documents one teacher's research journey through the facts on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder which was heavily influenced by fetal alcohol researcher Anne Streissguth's book titled, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome A Guide for Families and Communities. The author utilizes Fetal Alcohol basics within a power point presentation to inform elementary staff and concludes that the elementary staff gains knowledge on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder after viewing a power point presentation.
