Abstract
This capstone undertook the creation of a curriculum that effectively acts as a culmination of student learning in the senior year of high school and transitions students from high school to post-secondary options, including college and work. The study examines the pervasive problems of senioritis and the lack of motivation and relevance in traditional senior year curriculum. It considers curricular options such as the Senior Project, graduation portfolios, and graduation by exhibition as options. To increase student motivation, relevance to students' lives, and proper preparation for post-secondary options the author created a curriculum that integrated student choice, interdisciplinary focus, and public presentation of learning for a charter school with a focus on project-based learning.
