Abstract
The 21st century has brought with it immense change in all aspects of our world, from business and industry to personal communication and how we learn. Education's primary role is to prepare students for the world they will live in and so it, too, must change. Professional development, with the explicit intent of changing the attitudes and beliefs of teachers regarding teaching and learning, will help bring about this evolution. A research-based planning tool was developed and evaluated by professional developers as to its perceived effectiveness, strengths, and weaknesses. How the planning tool may be used and how the information learned may be disseminated to the professional community are discussed.
