Abstract

This qualitative study included interviews with teachers from the state of Minnesota. Interview questions were centered on barriers and successes teachers face when teaching environmental education. Results indicated that the top barriers participating teachers are facing today include lack of funding, resources, time and support. The most successful activities noted in the study include outdoor and hands-on activities, stewardship projects and cooperative learning. Additionally, successful methods, strategies, tools, support, stories and advice are elaborated upon within the study results.
